sweet dreams pt. 1
first theory lesson of the fifth semester. teached by joëlle module and named sweet dreams are made of this.
After the course overview the question of what a “contribution” is, was discussed. Regarding our upcoming bachelor thesis and the preparation for it.
My personal summary of this thinking out loud session was that a contribution in an academic sense should be either a new idea, product, cognition, or a reconnecting or reframing of what there is. Further it seemed important for the lecturer to push on the point not only mentioning a problem. It’s further important to propose a solution or the tools to enable one.
in the middle we answered ourself following questions in ten minutes:
What has impacted me in my student life in the last two years?
corona / z-module / bad planning from different sides / acknowledge the value of my work / friends from the interaction design department / good talk with friends / podcast
What was my impact on the program in the last two years?
going to glarus / contributed to good and bad group work environments / relaxed thinking — not to stress out / some good ping pong battles.
In the end we also watched two snippets from two movies covering the ACT UP movement.
